About

Welcome to “What’s On My Plate”!

I’ve been told I’m obsessed with food. I probably am. When I wake up I’m thinking about breakfast and once I take my first bite chances are I’m plotting my lunchtime pursuits. By noon I’m mapping out the dinner landscape. What can I say, good food takes time.

A lot of the time friends will ask me what I’m making for dinner or what I’ve been whipping up in general… “What’s On My Plate” is the answer to all those questions. I’m using this as a place to keep track of what I’ve been cooking and where friends can take note for what they want to order for the next dinner party.

Of course cooking doesn’t happen EVERY night so I’ll try to fill out the pages with mini-reviews of the restaurants that I’ve been going to as well. I recently moved back to Toronto after a 6-year absence while living in NYC so there will be a lot some restaurant testing happening.

When I’m not thinking about food, writing about food, or working with food (yes, my 9 to 5 involves food on too!) I’m doing yoga (Ashtanga, please.), watching Gossip Girl, surfing through Facebook, reading, sewing (or thinking about my dusty sewing machine), contemplating quilting, making Excel spreadsheets (I’m a Virgo, what can I say), having dance parties for one or planning a trip.

I currently live in Toronto with my “roommate” aka my female parental but am always thinking about moving somewhere else.  I have a B.A. in Journalism/Communication Studies from NYU and plan on returning to school at some point to pursue an MBA.

Enjoy WOMP (pretty catchy, isn’t it?) and if you need any more details about recipes, general advice or if you want me to whip you up a batch of something don’t hesitate to send a note to me at whatsonmyplate1 @ gmail [dot] com or follow me on Twitter.

This is awesome!!!! So this is what has been keeping you busy the last couple of weeks. Hee hee… Yum. Although now I’m hungry again after looking at all the delicious pics even though I just had lunch. Anyways I’m continuing my obsession with making pies. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I saw your entry on Chowhound and spent over an hour looking over your blog — so lovely. I commented thusly on CH and it was removed, perhaps before you got a chance to see it. Just wanted you to know you’re appreciated.

Thank you! Chowhound always removes posts!

Chowhound always removes my posts as well – don’t sweat it. They think I care enough to try and sell shit there. Honestly, trying to convince a foodie to believe anything beyond their own opinions is futile. So over chowhound and their daily emails I’ve “unsubscribed” from twice with no positive effect.

    Loving the site.
