Food Goals for 2009 – Revisited
Back in December I did a post about my Food Goals for 2009 and I thought now would be a good time to check in to see how I’ve been doing with my goals.
1. Bake more bread! –> Surprisingly enough I haven’t really stepped up my bread making game. I made some challah a few months ago but haven’t really made a lot of bread. I need to get on that.
2. Eat more seafood. –> I have definitely been buying different types of fish, particularly when I visit the Asian supermarket. In fact, I just bought “shark” for the first time. This reminds me… I need to make some scallops.
3. Make fancy desserts. –> okay, another slacker moment here. I’m cracking open my Baking Handbook and doing something fancy. Watchout.
4. Be more adventurous with my Mexican cooking. –> interestingly enough I have a Mexican recipe on my list of things to cook this week. It involves the above-mentioned shark. Stay tuned.
5. Use my ice cream maker in the winter. –> winter has come and gone and no ice cream was made. Summer. Promise.
6. Make my own pie crust. –> FAIL
7. Join a CSA or go to the Farmers’ Market more often. –>I totally did this! I signed up for the Good Food Box.
Okay I haven’t been the best with my list. I need to tape this to my wall or something and remember all the points above. I was going to add some more goals to my list but clearly I just need to focus on the above!
Another update to come in a few months…
