Balcony Garden – Update
The balcony garden (for the most part) continues to flourish!
I have strawberries! Granted, not enough to do anything with but snack, but still, strawberries! The first one that I ate was on the watery side but subsequent berries have been really sweet and pretty divine.
My lavender also continues to slowly bloom. Not sure what the issue is. I expected tons of great-smelling lavender but alas all I have is leaves. Hopefully the plant will explode any day now.
My habanero peppers are finally starting to produce a little something.
Now to the oddities…
As you may have noticed in the lavender picture, and can clearly see in this beet picture, I have some odd plant in there. I guess it must be some sort of weed. I’m totally surprised by this considering that I live on the 25th floor. I don’t understand weeds.
I’m also sad to report my first casualty. My lettuce pot has completely died! It got some sort of bizarro bug infestation and just couldn’t survive. I was lucky enough to use some of the arugula once but that was it. RIP lettuce plants.
Everything else seems to be cruising along so I’m a happy camper.

Your balcony garden has turned out better than my garden! It has been so dry and windy the only thing surviving is the basil. Nice strawberries!
Happy to hear your garden is doing great!
My patio garden is doing OK for the most part, but my zucchini have died…. I managed to cook some zucchini flowers and a couple of baby zucchini, but now the plant seem to be dying…
Lettuce also died, but I think it was a natural death, as I enjoyed fresh lettuce for the past 2 months, I am thinking of potting some new greens….
Cilantro also died an early death, for some reason I seem unable to grow cilantro….
Am waiting for tomatoes, eggplants and peppers now.
Your garden sounds great! Next year I will branch out for sure.
Hi-Five! Thi is fantastic

You are so awesome, man! I can not believe I missed this blog for so long. The great thing is full. Your design, people … … amazing! I can not wait for what youve read the future. I love “everything you say and want more, more, more! Maintain this, man! Just too good.
Congrats! We just recently started a balcony garden too with tomatoes (regular, cherry and beefsteak), coriander and oregano. It’s too early to give a prognosis yet but I must say that it is ever so satisfying to grow your own herbs, fruits and veggies…especially living in a big city! Cheers.
